The Epic Adventures of Freya and Hildisvín in the Land Between the Worlds

The Epic Adventures of Freya and Hildisvin in the Land Between the Worlds, inspired by a recent trip to Iceland, explores the mystical and liminal spaces between reality and myth. The Old Norse story of Freya and Hidisvin is a rich narrative about a warrior goddess and her sow and her journey to come to know the ways of her ancestors and to eventually acknowledge her own.

Today is the day

Ill finally return to the home of my ancestors from years of wandering.

I gave everything away, releasing the tethers

My house, my belongings, my attachment to a life and a idea of what and who I was supposed to be and followed the path in front of me, not knowing where I was going

It was hard for me to leave my beautiful things behind but Im also a seeker of pleasures

I wanted most to be free

I made oaths to the future

I embraced my wanderlust and came and went and did as I pleased.

I wandered the wastelands

and my tears filled the well

Aware of the challenges and the opportunities

and people i met

and conversations I had

My names are endless

I am Freya

I am Volva

I am  a practitioner of magic and can weave new events into being.

My destiny is to teach others how to do so.

I can control the desires, health, and prosperity of myself and others

I traveled from town to town performing magic in exchange for lodging , food, and gits.

I soon realized that everywhere I stayed was my home, whether it was for a few days, weeks or months.

And as soon as I was ready to leave, I could do so easily.

Joy, love, adventure, peace were available everywhere and I found them and they found me.

I carried them like my few articles of clothing rolled into my bag.

Hildesin, my constant, was with me. A reminder that I was a warrior and powerful.

A reminder that I was safe

A reminder that the trees and the path and the people that I met were all part of me and I a part of them

A reminder that I am never alone

Today is the day

Ill finally return to the home of my ancestors from years of wandering.
